Ambassador class
Ambassador class (TNG-163)
The design of the Ambassador class, which entered service in 2325, was closely related to the Constitution class and formed the basis for the design of later vessels like the Nebula and Galaxy classes. Measuring 526 meters in length, the Ambassador class boasted six Type-8 phasers and one photon torpedo launcher. The Ambassador class had two shuttlebays: a main shuttlebay located at the rear of the engineering hull, and a secondary shuttlebay on the primary hull just above the point where it met the interconnecting dorsal. The sensor systems were concentrated in a sensor dome on the underside of the saucer directly below the main bridge, and in pallets mounted on deck 2, with the main deflector providing long range scans. Transporter emitters were located on the saucer section, and on the flanges that supported and formed the base of the nacelle pylons. The ships also featured a similar design of escape pod later used on Galaxy class vessels.[2]

Gomtuu
A very old, organic spaceborne life-form, apparently the last of a species of living spacecraft which lived in symbiosis with the crew who flew it, communicating with them telepathically. The crew aboard Gomtuu had been killed due to the radiation from an explosion which penetrated Gomtuu’s skin, and since, Gomtuu has felt the loss deeply. Being a life-form with a social nature, the absence of Gomtuu’s crew had made it terribly lonely, and it had wandered aimlessly for centuries, finally coming to Beta Stromgren before the star went nova to end its life. Betazoid first contact specialist Tam Elbrun communicated with Gomtuu and discovered a kindred soul. The two became fast friends, deeply intertwined, and eventually, Tam decided to stay aboard Gomtuu for the remainder of his own life.[1]

Intrepid (II) class (VOY-120)
The Intrepid (II) class Starship Voyager was launched in 2370 under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway, and was stranded in the Delta Quadrant—some 70,000 light years from Earth—by an entity known as the Caretaker on Stardate 48316.1. Captain Janeway invited the similarly stranded crew of a destroyed Maquis vessel—which Voyager had been pursuing when it was pulled across the galaxy—to join the crew, and asked the Maquis commander, Chakotay, to serve as her first officer, succeeding the late Lieutenant Commander Cavit, who died in the violent transgalactic transit, and other members of the Maquis crew filled the positions of other Voyager crew members who had perished,[1] including B’Elanna Torres, who took over as Voyager‘s chief of Engineering.[2]
