Vahklas (ENT-17)
Vahklas (ENT-17)

Vulcan civilian ship, of an older, unknown class. The Vahklas was commanded by Tavin, and carried a group of V’tosh ka’tur—”Vulcans without logic”—including Tolaris and Kov. The Vahklas encountered the Enterprise NX-01 in 2151, when the Vahklas was in need of repairs. The crews worked together to chart the Arachnid Nebula, often using the Vulcans’ astrometrics lab.[1]

Shortly after the discovery of photon torpedo technology, the Klingon Empire initiated a program for a missile-armed destroyer. Several designs were reviewed and tested before the V’kar Zadan (“Stingtongue”) class, which would later be designated the D-2 by Starfleet, was commissioned. Five months later, a slightly redesigned version of the class was introduced, different only in the arrangement of its torpedo bays. The V’kar Zadan class was an excellent offensive weapon against ships of its own class, but wasn’t able to hold up against larger ships due to the lack of range of its torpedoes and a relatively weak superstructure. The class was produced at Iosia and H’renn at an average rate of twelve per month. The class name, V’kar Zadan, translated to “the tongue that stings.”[1]

Ti’Mur (ENT-08)

The Ti’Mur was a Suurok class Vulcan starship, commanded by Captain Vanik from 2136 until at least 2151.[1] In 2151, the Ti’Mur discovered a probe launched by the Dokaalan prior to the destruction of their planet, circa 2113. They were unable to further investigate, however, given their assignment to observe the activities of the Earth Starfleet vessel Enterprise NX-01.[2] The Ti’Mur observed the Enterprise at the eiseilium-rich Comet Archer in 2151, and later rescued Reed and Mayweather, whose shuttle had become trapped within the comet. T’Pol used the Ti’Mur to convey her intention to stay aboard the Enterprise rather than enter into an arranged marriage to Koss.[1]

The K’t’inga class T’Ong was commanded by Captain K’Temoc on a deep space exploration mission that left Klingon space in 2290; in 2365, it returned after 75 years in hibernation, and would have attacked several nearby Federation colonies, if not for the intervention of Ambassador K’Ehleyr.[1]

Suurok class

Suurok class (ENT-08)
Suurok class (ENT-08)

Class of Vulcan ship in wide use in the mid-22nd century. Its circular warp nacelle design was common among Vulcan ships of the era.[1] Captain Archer once commented that he was pleased that the temporarily warp-less Enterprise NX-01 would not be getting any help from a Suurok class ship.[2]

Sh’Raan

Suurok class (ENT-08)

The Suurok class Sh’Raan was sent to rendezvous with the Enterprise NX-01 to transport Ambassador V’Lar back to Vulcan, so that she could offer testimony against the Mazarite High Council. The Mazarites tried to kill V’Lar before she could get to the Sh’Raan, and the Enterprise had to send an emergency distress call. When the Sh’Raan arrived, the Enterprise had been jamming the Mazarites’ sensors, so the pursuing ships were easily disabled by the Sh’Raan‘s weapons.[1]

Riskadh class

Riskadh class (FASA-2301)

In 2254, the Riskadh class cruiser—or D-10, as it was designated by Starfleet—was commissioned into service, the design of which was strongly influenced by the D-7. The Klingon Empire hoped to counter Starfleet’s Constitution class cruisers with this new vessel. The Four Years War was in its second year, and the Klingons had learned some lessons as well. The Riskadh class used the same command pod as the D-7, thus eliminating the need for additional production facilities. As a result, it had the same capabilities as the D-7’s pod; namely, the ability to be jettisoned and have independent sub-light engines, life-support, and weapons. In February 2256, Starfleet captured a pod that had been jettisoned during the Battle of Kesse, sixteen months earlier; the crew was alive and as well as could be expected.[1]
