Next Generation
Starbase 211
A small, but powerfully-armed starbase[3] in the Dorvan Sector[2] intended to provide support and supply facilities for Deep Space 9.[3] The station could dock up to six Nebula class cruisers.[3] The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D escorted the U.S.S. Phoenix NCC-65420 to Starbase 211 in 2367, following Captain Benjamin Maxwell‘s unauthorized attacks in Cardassian space.[1]

Starbase 173
Starbase 173 (TNG-135)
A major command and administrative post for the Romulan Neutral Zone,[3] located in Sector 23,[1] quite near Starbase 23, its associated strategic station.[3] Built in the 2280s, both bases were on a heightened alert status, even in peacetime. Starbase 173 hosted a key field office of Starfleet Intelligence.[3] In 2364, Starbase 173 was the site of legal proceedings, presided over by Captain Phillipa Louvois, establishing the sentience of the Android Data.[1] Engineering officer Ensign Sonya Gomez was among several new crewmembers who transferred to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D at the starbase at that time.[2]

Starbase 84
Spacedock (ST-06)
One of many floating refit and resupply bases for the Alpha Quadrant, Starbase 84 could embay twelve Galaxy class starships and dock twenty-four Akira class ships simultaneously. A number of industrial planets kept Starbase 84 supplied with dilithium, duranium, and even pre-built warp cores and phaser arrays.[2] In 2370, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D traveled to Starbase 84, where it acquired a replacement warp core that had been infested by interphasic organisms. The core had been manufactured on the planet Thanatos VII, where the organisms were attracted to a new interphasic fusion manufacturing process.[1]

Starbase 74
Starbase 74 (TNG-116)
One of Starfleet‘s largest spacedocks,[2] Starbase 74 orbited Tarsas III.[1] Its bays could service fifty Galaxy-class starships at once, if need be. The Tarsas-Qualor run was an excellent place to see any and every kind of ship under power or tow. In addition to being a spare parts paradise, Starbase 74 boasted the finest Bynar computer techs in Starfleet.[2] In 2363, Starbase 74 was commanded by Commander Orfil Quinteros. The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D underwent a computer system upgrade at the starbase that year, although it was interrupted when a group of Bynar technicians attempted to hijack the ship in order to save their home planet.[1]

Starbase 12
An orbiting command post in the Gamma 400 star system, Starbase 12 was established in 2163 as a test of Starfleet‘s remote construction abilites.[6] In 2167, at the time that the U.S.S. Essex NCC-173 was lost at planet Mab-Bu VI, Starbase 12 was commanded by Admiral Uttan Narsu.[5] It remained an excellent location for starship maintenance, as well as containing much of the defense traffic for the inner core of the Federation.[6] In 2266, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 set course for Starbase 12 with the sleeper ship S.S. Botany Bay in tow.[1] Several months later, it was the closest starbase when the Enterprise visited planet Pollux IV.[2]
Starbase 12 was evacuated for two days in 2364, apparently because key Starfleet officials were under the control of the blue gill parasites attempting to infiltrate Starfleet Command.[3] In 2366, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D was scheduled for a week’s worth of maintenance overhaul at Starbase 12, following a mission to Gemaris V.[4]

U.S.S. Tolstoy
Rigel class (LUG-25100)
A Rigel class Federation starship, the Tolstoy was a heavy scout vessel.[3]
In 2366, Captain Christine Parsons took command of the Tolstoy.[4] Later that year, the Tolstoy engaged the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359. Unfortunately, the Tolstoy was destroyed in the engagement, along with 38 other vessels;[1] the Tolstoy was destroyed after the U.S.S. Kyushu, but before the U.S.S. Gage in the assault on the Borg cube.[2]
