Starbase 84

One of many floating refit and resupply bases for the Alpha Quadrant, Starbase 84 could embay twelve Galaxy class starships and dock twenty-four Akira class ships simultaneously. A number of industrial planets kept Starbase 84 supplied with dilithium, duranium, and even pre-built warp cores and phaser arrays.^[2] In 2370, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D traveled to Starbase 84, where it acquired a replacement warp core that had been infested by interphasic organisms. The core had been manufactured on the planet Thanatos VII, where the organisms were attracted to a new interphasic fusion manufacturing process.^[1]
