The Na Ra’den class, designated T-12 by Starfleet, began production in mid-2279. It was the largest assault ship in the Klingon fleet during the late 23rd century, and was capable of putting its entire contingent of 2400 troops, 56 light support vehicles, and 28 heavy tanks on the ground in less than fifteen minutes, which made it very difficult for any enemy to repel them. In most assault operations, these ships operated in groups of three, and the number of groups depended on the complexity of the operation.[1]

The Mas To Gal class assault ship, designated the T-5 by Starfleet, began production in late 2261, and was capable of beaming down 292 troops, eight light support vehicles, and two tanks every two minutes. In less than ten minutes, its entire complement of 1400 troops, 32 light support vehicles, and eight tanks could be on the ground and ready to attack. Of the 343 built by 2281, 273 remained in active service, four were in reserve fleets, 47 had been destroyed, and eighteen had been sold to the civil sector. Named from a Klingon term meaning “throne seeker,” the class was manufactured at Fonawl and Mustaka at the rate of 14 per year.[1]

The Lara’atan class, also known as the D-18 to Starfleet, was by far the most widely-used destroyer in the Klingon Empire, and in the late 23rd century could be found in every region of Klingon space and in the Triangle; there were even reports of Lara’atan class ships accompanying research efforts into the Empire’s spinward regions. The Klingon name Lara’atan translated to “protector of brothers,” but the class was more commonly known to Starfleet personnel as “Gull,” an obvious reference to its appearance. Like other Klingon vessels, the Lara’atan class had the command pod forward of the main hull, though the neck was considerably smaller than on other designs; the neck contained no storage compartments or uses other than a horizontal turbolift. The pod had a jettison mechanism coupled with an impulse drive, but unlike other designs it contained no weapons. All senior officer quarters were in the command pod, as well as life support and food synthesis systems.[1]

Komo Val class

Komo Val class (FASA-2301)

Specifications
Length 320 meters[1]
Width 190 meters[1]
Height 105 meters[1]
Mass 214,000 metric tons[1]
Crew 1070[1]
Troops 480[1]
Shuttlecraft 20[1]
Cruising Speed Warp 6[1]
Emergency Speed Warp 8[1]
Weapons 8 KD-8 disruptors in 4 banks of 2; 4 KD-13 disruptors; 4 torpedo launchers[1]

The Komo Val class battleship, which was designated L-24 by Starfleet and entered service in early 2280, was the largest warship in the Klingon Defense Force at the time. The bridge was located in the forward pod; this was typical of Klingon design, and was capable of separating from the main hull in case of emergency. The bridge module had an auxiliary impulse engine that could be used only after separation; it gave the pod the ability to travel short distances and allowed minimal maneuvering capabilities. The pod also mounted two disruptor banks, which were capable of firing in all directions after separation. Also mounted in the pod was a single torpedo bay, though torpedo storage was minimal. The vessel also carried 480 assault troops and eight light support vehicles, which could all be transported down to a planet in less than seven minutes. By mid-2281, only two Komo Val class vessels had been constructed and were operating along the Federation border. Several others were under construction and were intended for deployment along the Romulan border and the Triangle. The class was named from the Klingon komo val, which translated to “always in victory.”[1]
