U.S.S. Sempach
Constellation class (TNG-110)
The U.S.S. Sempach was a Constellation class Federation starship that was in service in the late 23rd century. Launched in 2275 under the command of Commodore Jono Danilov, the Sempach was the second Constellation class vessel to be launched. In 2276, the Sempach was one of six Starfleet ships that met with a Romulan flotilla for peace talks under the protection of the Lalairu city-ship Mascrar, though the talks proved to be a ruse. The Sempach survived the engagement unscathed.[1]

U.S.S. Saladin NCC-74350
Defiant class (DS9-537)
The Saladin was a Federation Defiant class starship. In 2375, the Saladin was part of a Starfleet/Klingon patrol that engaged a Jem’Hadar task force. During the battle, Captain Shinoda was killed, and the first officer, Commander Julia Rivera assumed command. The Saladin ultimately survived the battle, but suffered significant damage, which was later repaired when the ship put in at the Bakrii shipyard.[1] During the Borg invasion in 2381, the Saladin was one of the vessels which gathered at the Azure Nebula to defend the Federation against the Borg. When the U.S.S. Aventine and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E were more than three hours overdue in reporting back from subspace tunnel twenty-two alpha, Captain Chakotay of the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 prepared to order the Saladin, the U.S.S. T’Kumbra NCC-62100, and the U.S.S. Templar through, but more than seven thousand Borg cubes arrived through tunnel twenty-six before the ships could depart.[2]

U.S.S. Republic NCC-1371
Constitution class (TOS-10)
James T. Kirk served aboard the Constitution class Starship Republic[1] for his first cadet cruise in 2254 while attending Starfleet Academy.[2] While aboard the vessel, he befriended an older officer, Lieutenant Ben Finney, but that friendship didn’t prevent Kirk from logging an incident in which Finney left a circuit to the vessel’s reactor core open, endangering the ship. The incident report caused Finney to be moved to the bottom of the promotions list, and resulted more than a decade of enmity from the older man.[1] The Republic later resolved the threat of piracy by Orion raiders in the Volus Corridor, and deterred Klingon border incursions along the Neutral Zone.[3]

Ranger class
Ranger class (Decipher #3)
Starfleet‘s primary explorer during the early 23rd century, the Ranger class served as an excellent backup to the later Constitution class during the latter half of the century. Initially responsible for everything from first contact surveys to covert operations against Klingon prison worlds, the Ranger class later settled into a comfortable role on sector patrol, diplomatic convoy, and other support operations. However, Starfleet’s chronic ship shortage before the dawn of replicator-assisted construction in the 2270s meant that Ranger class crews had to be ready for anything and used to everything.[3]
Although computationally underpowered, the Ranger class was otherwise a top-quality ship. Its revolutionary tritanium construction, combined with full implementation of the M-2196 Impulse Engine, made it stronger and faster than most other 23rd century craft. Spaceframe designer Marc Chausser‘s work allowed a larger crew more access to critical systems, and maximized living and working space. With the Ranger class, Starfleet gained the ability to project a critical mass of specialists (and force) anywhere in known space.[3]
