Class-M. Earth is the third planet in the Sol System[1] in Sector 001[7] and homeworld of Humans. In 2254, the Talosians viewed an image of the Sol System and many images of Earth’s history while accessing the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701‘s computer.[1] Earth became one of the founding members of the United Federation of Planets in 2161,[15] following the Romulan War,[6] and served as that body’s capital.[5] Starfleet Command and Starfleet Academy were based in San Francisco,[2, 3] while the offices of the Federation President[9] and the Federation Council chamber were located in Paris.[22] The planet hosted several advanced orbital habitats,[2] Starfleet spacedocks,[4] and satellite networks, including Federation communications networks.[12]

Deep Space Nine

Deep Space Nine (DS9-401-402)
Deep Space Nine (DS9-401-402)

Formerly a Cardassian mining facility orbiting Bajor called Terok Nor, the station was redesignated Deep Space Nine when it came under Federation control following the end of the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor in 2369. At the behest of the Bajoran Provisional Government, Starfleet administered the facility. Shortly after the arrival of the station’s new Starfleet crew, however, a stable, artificial wormhole was discovered in the Bajor System‘s Denorios Belt. The station was moved to a new position near the terminus of the wormhole, and it quickly became a focal point for political and military intrigue, as well as one of the most strategic locations in the quadrant.[1]

Dreon VII

Class-M Alpha Quadrant world supporting a Bajoran colony, no more than six hours’ travel away from Bajor. The freighter Xhosa, operated by Kasidy Yates, made cargo runs between Bajor and Dreon VII.[1]

Draylon II

Class-M Alpha Quadrant world, uninhabited prior to 2370. The planet featured a stable orbit, temperate climate with mild winters, very low surface radiation, good soil with plenty of suitable farmland, and a long growing season. It was the second choice of a new home for 3 million displaced Skrreeans, after they were refused the opportunity to settle on Bajor, which their leaders had originally determined to be their legendary promised land of “Kentanna.”[1]

Dozaria

Hot, desolate planet where the Breen operated dilithium mines. Severe ionic interference in its atmosphere caused the Cardassian prison transport Ravinok to crash-land on Dozaria in 2366 after being attacked by Breen warships. The survivors—Bajorans and Cardassians—were forced into slave labor in the mines, and were rescued six years later by Kira Nerys and Gul Dukat.[1]

Denorios Belt

A charged plasma field in the Bajoran system that hosts the Alpha Quadrant end of the Bajoran wormhole. Though ships had always avoided it, a stranded Kai Taluno first reported odd phenomena there in the 22nd century; five of the nine known Bajoran orbs were found within it over the 10 millennia prior to 2369, and 23 navigation reports of severe local neutrino disturbances were on record. In 2337, some 32 years before the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor, it was also where Constable Odo was found.[1] An extremely rare and violent plasma disruption in the belt on Stardate 47182.1 forced the evacuation of Deep Space Nine for all but a skeleton crew, and a Trill named Verad tried to hijack the Dax symbiont.[2]

M-class planet considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in the galaxy, which was colonized by humans in the 22nd century,[5] and later became a Federation world.[8] It was used as a freighting line base in the region.[1] Deneva, the third planet orbiting Kappa Fornacis in the Beta Quadrant,[4] served as a key supply station for many Earth cargo ships, including the E.C.S. Horizon,[5] for at least two centuries.[2] Freighters would make regular trips from Deneva carrying supplies to the nearby asteroid belt for the miners stationed there, and bringing cargo out. Montgomery Scott was an engineering advisor on a couple of those freighter runs.[1]

Delgoria

Planet where a sophisticated locking mechanism was manufactured. When Verad and his people took over Deep Space Nine, Odo was forced to stay in liquid form in a box held shut with a standard Delgorian locking mechanism. Quark was familiar with the lock’s vulnerability and was able to break it open.[1]

Dayos IV

Planet near the Klingon and Federation spheres of influence (presumably in the Beta Quadrant), where Kang first met one of the Albino‘s discarded wives and learned of the outlaw murderer’s hideout after she died.[1]

World that hosted a museum where Quark‘s cousin Kono once stole bone carving artifacts before travelling to Deep Space Nine circa Stardate 47603 to get help fencing them.[1]
