Galactic Barrier

Galactic Barrier (TOS-01)

The Galactic Barrier was an energy field with unpredictable neurogenic properties. It surrounded the disk of the Milky Way Galaxy in a roughly toroidal shape, and prevented most attempts at exploration beyond the boundaries of the galaxy.[1, 2]

Eminiar VII

Eminiar VII Surface (TOS-23)
Eminiar VII Surface (TOS-23)

M-class planet with an advanced civilization that was at war with its neighbor planet, Vendikar, for more than 500 years. While on a diplomatic mission, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 discovered that the two planets learned to avoid the complete devastation of war by using computers to simulate the outcomes of a real attack. When a “hit” was scored by one of the planets, the people declared “dead” willingly walked into antimatter chambers and were vaporized. Captain Kirk and Commander Spock eventually destroyed the computers. Kirk told the Eminiar VII council members that they made this war too easy for themselves and that they would truly experience the horrors of war if they did not learn to make peace first.[1]

El-Auria

Star well beyond Federation space, whose system was home to a race of long-lived, empathic humanoids until the 23rd century when the Borg destroyed their world and left a few survivors scattered about the galaxy.[1]

Ekos (TOS-52)

Orbiting the star M34 Alpha, Ekos was the home of a humanoid native race which was corrupted by unauthorized Federation historian John Gill into adopting the Nazi credo and attacking neighbor world Zeon, until an Ekosian underground movement paved the way for peace in 2267.[1]

Earth Spacedock

Earth Spacedock (ST-06)
Earth Spacedock (ST-06)

The Earth Spacedock was a massive station orbiting the planet Earth, providing service facilities for Starfleet vessels. The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 returned to the Spacedock in 2285 following the battle with Khan in the Mutara Nebula. At the time, the ship was scheduled to be decommissioned, but Admiral Kirk stole the Enterprise from the Spacedock in his effort to rescue Spock on the Genesis Planet. Also at the Spacedock at the time was the U.S.S. Excelsior NX-2000, undergoing tests on its experimental transwarp drive.[1] The Spacedock was disabled by an alien space probe approaching Earth in 2286.[2] In 2287, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A was undergoing shakedown tests and systems installation at the Spacedock prior to the Nimbus III incident.[3] In 2291, the Enterprise-A left the Spacedock to escort Klingon Chancellor Gorkon to Earth for a peace conference.[4] By the late 24th century, the spacedock had been replaced by a new station, which was a larger version of the same design.[5]

V122 Timeline

In 2372, the runabout U.S.S. Yellowstone NCC-74751 was stolen from the Spacedock by Ensign Harry Kim and Tom Paris (Alt-V122).[5]

In the early 25th century, the Earth Spacedock was replaced with a new space station complex. Though it lacked the internal dock capabilities of its predecessors, it was surrounded by orbital drydock lattices that could expand and contract to service virtually any starship type. However, in 2409, the young Q replaced this new station with its predecessor, a change that remained permanent.[6]

Earth (TOS-55)

Class-M. Earth is the third planet in the Sol System[1] in Sector 001[7] and homeworld of Humans. In 2254, the Talosians viewed an image of the Sol System and many images of Earth’s history while accessing the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701‘s computer.[1] Earth became one of the founding members of the United Federation of Planets in 2161,[15] following the Romulan War,[6] and served as that body’s capital.[5] Starfleet Command and Starfleet Academy were based in San Francisco,[2, 3] while the offices of the Federation President[9] and the Federation Council chamber were located in Paris.[22] The planet hosted several advanced orbital habitats,[2] Starfleet spacedocks,[4] and satellite networks, including Federation communications networks.[12]

M-class planet considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in the galaxy, which was colonized by humans in the 22nd century,[5] and later became a Federation world.[8] It was used as a freighting line base in the region.[1] Deneva, the third planet orbiting Kappa Fornacis in the Beta Quadrant,[4] served as a key supply station for many Earth cargo ships, including the E.C.S. Horizon,[5] for at least two centuries.[2] Freighters would make regular trips from Deneva carrying supplies to the nearby asteroid belt for the miners stationed there, and bringing cargo out. Montgomery Scott was an engineering advisor on a couple of those freighter runs.[1]

Class M planet and site of Farpoint Station, built and offered by the native humanoids, the Bandi, as a starbase for the United Federation of Planets. Its interior heat provided geothermal energy tapped as a power source, but not enough to have helped build the station as quickly as it had been.[2] It was known as an R&R spot for Starfleet personnel for more than a century,[1] but could still be described as being on the edge of the great unexplored part of the galaxy in 2363.[2]

Class-M[3] moon of T’Khut, the third planet in the 40 Eridani trinary system, which shared an orbit around 40 Eridani A with its sister planet, Vulcan.[1, 2]

ST11 Timeline

On Stardate 2258.42, James T. Kirk was left on the moon near Starfleet Outpost Hunter[4] by Spock, the acting captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. While on the surface, Kirk encountered both Montgomery Scott, who was assigned to the station, and Spock (Prime), who had been marooned there by Nero.[3]

This new Delta Vega’s location within the Vulcan system is conjectural, but given the size of Vulcan in Spock (Prime)’s memories, and the ease and speed with which the Enterprise was able to drop Kirk off at Delta Vega (despite the obvious damage to the ship’s warp drive from the collision with the Mayflower‘s saucer wreckage), the only logical location for the planet would be the previously-unnamed moon of Vulcan’s sister world, T’Khut.
