System with a Type-M red supergiant Beta Quadrant star discovered on the eve of its supernova explosion by the Vega 9 probe, located some 23 parsecs beyond the limit of manned Federation exploration as of Stardate 43779, in a sector claimed by the Romulans. “Tin Man” was discovered orbiting it and intended to remain behind in the wake of the star’s explosion.[1]

The colony’s water supply was contaminated by trader Kivas Fajo as a diversion when he kidnapped Lieutenant Commander Data in 2366. He made a large profit on the sale of hytritium, which was needed to cleanse the contamination.[1]
