A noted aviator, Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly alone across Earth‘s Atlantic Ocean. Born in 1898, Earhart disappeared without a trace in 1937 while piloting a Lockheed Electra aircraft in an attempt to fly around the Earth. Unknown to twentieth-century Earth authorities, Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, were among some three hundred Humans abducted from the planet and taken as slave labor on a world held by the Briori in the Delta Quadrant. Earhart, Noonan, and six other abductees remained in cryostasis for centuries until they were revived in 2371 by Starfleet personnel from the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656. Earhart and Noonan both elected to remain on the former Briori-held world, along with a colony of descendants from the original abductees. Voyager Captain Kathryn Janeway noted that Earhart had been an inspiration that had led her to a career in Starfleet.[1]

Ultimately, however, she told the doctor that she just wanted to be friends. Cutler also tried to befriend the aloof T’Pol, but to no avail.[2]
