Valakis

Homeworld of the Valakians and the Menk. Valakis was located in the Deneva Sector of the Beta Quadrant, approximately seven light years from the Beta Rigel System, and 27 light years from Earth. The Valakians were devastated by a mysterious plague, while the Menk seemed to be immune. Dr. Phlox of the Enterprise NX-01 determined that the Menk would eventually become the dominant species on Valakis.^[1]
