A deadly Romulan warbird leads the Starship Enterprise into a deadly web of treachery!

On border patrol near the Romulan Neutral Zone, the crew discovers a prototype vessel that dwarfs the Enterprise. An away team finds all of the Romulans aboard dead due to an engineering accident. The enigmatic vessel carries a deadly surprise and will force Picard to not only face losing his command and his crew, but also visit a world that remains quarantined and forbidden by Starfleet Command.
