Boradis III

Site of the first Federation outpost in the Boradis System founded in 2331, and the first of thirteen that had been settled in the sector by 2365.[1]

Boradis System

A star system near galactic coordinates 423x112x51. Its third planet was first colonized by the Federation in 2331. There were three other colonies in the system, which was relatively near Starbase 153.[1]

Boraal II

An inhabited planet, its atmosphere suddenly began a catastrophic dissipation in 2370, threatening its native medieval culture. Nikolai Rozhenko, Worf‘s adopted brother, fell in love with a native woman while disguised as a cultural observer and broke the Prime Directive to save her village.[1]

Bolarus IX

Federation planet and home to the Bolians, the planet had an uneasy truce with the Moropa. It sent at least two delegates to the biennial Trade Agreements Conference on Betazed in 2366.[1]

Black Cluster

Black Cluster (TNG-211)
Black Cluster (TNG-211)

A spatial anomaly formed from the collapse of hundreds of nearby proto-stars; the massive gravitational fluctuations, or wavefronts, that resulted were violent, highly unpredictable and distorted sensor readings. The black cluster in Sector 97—at nine billion years old, one of the most ancient formations in the Milky Way—was seven times more massive and the most violent ever encountered, probably due to its size. Unintentional amplification of the wavefront intensities wrecked the S.S. Vico and almost destroyed the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D.[1]

Binary Star System (TNG-191)

A previously uncharted and unnamed system, where the U.S.S. Brattain NCC-21166 was found caught in a Tyken’s Rift, an unusual rupture of space that was undetectable by most sensors. A subspace distress call from the Tyken’s Rift and answering aid from a ship would take at least two weeks.[1]

Binary Star System (Kavis Alpha Sector)

Kavis Alpha Binary Star System (TNG-150)
Kavis Alpha Binary Star System (TNG-150)

A spectacular system in the Kavis Alpha Sector. Its red supergiant‘s matter was pulled off by the gravity of its neutron companion. This occured until the neutron star accumulated too much surface matter and regularly exploded every 196 years. The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D watched from 40 million kilometers away in 2365, when Dr. Paul Stubbs‘ probe was finally launched to study it.[1]

Bilana III

Bilana III (TNG-210)

A light blue world with wispy clouds, its Science Institute served as the base of operations for the Soliton Wave test. Only three light-years from Lemma II, the planet was apparently in a sector near Earth‘s, judging by Helena Rozhenko‘s quick decision to hop a transport. It was not specified whether Dr. Ja’Dar‘s race was native to the planet.[1]

The Class-M homeworld of the Betazoid race, a Federation member, was Earth-like in appearance with large blue oceans. It was within a standard shuttlecraft’s range of Starbase G-6. It hosted a biennial trade conference circa Stardate 43930, when Counselor Deanna Troi, her mother, Ambassador Lwaxana Troi, and Commander William Riker were abducted by the Ferengi from one of its large parklands.[2] The Trois lived near Lake El-Nar until Kestra, Deanna’s older sister, died. Mr. Homn, Lwaxana’s personal assistant, resided there when not accompanying her.[3] Troi commented that Angel I‘s government reminded her of that on Betazed; it was not clear whether she meant the constitutional oligarchy or its matriarchal social structure.[1]
