NX class
NX class (ENT-01-02)
The first of a new generation of Warp 5 starships designed for long-term space travel and scientific discovery, the first NX class starship, Enterprise NX-01, was launched in April 2151 under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer. The NX class was the culmination of more than three decades of research and development at the Warp Five Complex by Archer’s father, Dr. Henry Archer, and other scientists inspired by warp pioneer Zefram Cochrane. The NX class’s Warp 5 engine put humanity within reach of thousands of inhabited worlds, compared to the small handful at lower warp speeds, for the first time.[2]

Endeavour NX-06
NX class (ENT-01-02)
The NX class Starship Endeavour was launched in June 2156. Due to the relatively slow pace at which the NX class ships could be built and the military necessities inherent during the Romulan War, Endeavour was the last ship of her class constructed, so that resources could be diverted to upgrading the existing and easier-to-build Daedalus class ships with the advances in warp drive and weapons technology created for the NX class.[1]

Challenger NX-03
NX class (ENT-01-02)
The NX class Starship Challenger was launched in late August 2155. Challenger was destroyed in March 2156 when Captain Roy Dunsel initiated the ship’s self-destruct rather than allow it to fall into Romulan hands while defending Andoria, sacrificing the lives of all aboard so that the Romulans could not use Challenger‘s weapons against Andoria after the ship’s computers had been taken over remotely.[1]

U.S.S. Challenger
Challenger (II) class (TNG-175)
Challenger (II) class (TNG-175)
Challenger (II) class.[1] Prototype of the line. At least the fourth starship to bear the name, and the second to be the first of a class.
The class name is taken from The Star Trek Encyclopedia and was not used on screen. Though the ship has never appeared on screen or in the tie-in fiction, others of the class have; it must exist, given the tradition of naming classes for the first ship of the line.
