U.S.S. Challenger NCC-71099
Galaxy class (TNG-101-102)
V201 Timeline
In 2390, the Galaxy-class Challenger, under the command of Captain Geordi La Forge, tried unsuccessfully to prevent Chakotay and Harry Kim from changing history.[1]
STO Timeline
Captain Geordi La Forge, who had previously served as first officer and chief engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E under Captain Data, was named commanding officer of the Challenger in 2397; he was succeeded as chief engineer on the Enterprise by Lieutenant Commander Nog.[2]
Named for the early human spacecraft, destroyed in 1986 in an explosion that claimed the lives of seven astronauts shortly after launch.

U.S.S. Carolina
Ranger class (Decipher #3)
The Ranger class[2] U.S.S. Carolina apparently sent out a distress signal to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 on Stardate 3497.2. The transmission turned out to be a hoax, a Klingon attempt to prevent the Enterprise from returning to Capella IV.[1]

Capital Gain (Mirror)
Defiant class (DS9-537)
In the Mirror Universe, the Capital Gain was a warship constructed by the Terran Rebellion,[2] and was based on the Defiant-class specifications stolen from Deep Space Nine in 2371. After the Terran Rebellion on the Mirror Terok Nor built their own Defiant,[1] Generals Zek and Bashir turned the abandoned Empok Nor station into a shipyard capable of producing up to twelve Defiant-class starships at a time. The Capital Gain was the first ship produced there, and was captained by Zek.[2]

U.S.S. Cairo NCC-42136
Excelsior class (ST-06)
In 2369 the Excelsior-class U.S.S. Cairo NCC-42136, commanded by Captain Edward Jellico, transported Vice Admiral Nechayev to a rendezvous with the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D when it was feared that the Cardassians were developing a metagenic weapon.[1] In 2374, the Cairo, now under the command of Captain Leslie Wong, was lost and presumed destroyed by Dominion forces while on patrol near the Romulan Neutral Zone.[2] Named for the capitol city of Egypt on Earth.

U.S.S. Brattain NCC-21166
Miranda class (ST-02)
Commanded by Captain Chantal Zaheva. The Brattain mysteriously disappeared in 2367 and was found trapped in a Tyken’s rift near a binary star system by the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. All but one of the Brattain crew were found dead, apparently having brutally killed each other. Autopsies conducted by Dr. Beverly Crusher revealed unusual chemical imbalances in their brains, apparently due to severe REM sleep deprivation, believed to be the cause of the bizarre violence. The REM sleep loss was found to be a side-effect of an attempt by an alien ship to communicate from within the Tyken’s Rift. The alien intelligence had apparently been trying to enlist the Brattain‘s crew to help both ships escape the rift.[1] Named for Walter House Brattain (1902-1987), American scientist who won the Nobel prize for Physics in 1956 for the development of the transistor.

U.S.S. Bozeman NCC-1941
U.S.S. Bozeman (TNG-218)
U.S.S. Bozeman (TNG-218)
Soyuz-class Federation starship commanded by Captain Morgan Bateson, a contemporary of Admiral James T. Kirk and Captain Spock. In 2278, three weeks after leaving its home starbase, the Bozeman disappeared near the Typhon Expanse. It re-emerged in a near-collision with the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D in 2368. The Bozeman had been unknowingly stuck in a temporal causality loop with the Enterprise-D; while the Enterprise crew lost only 17.4 days, the crew of the Bozeman effectively skipped over 90 years. In alternate realities, the two ships had actually collided and destroyed each other, an occurrence which repeated numerous times in the causality loop, until the Enterprise crew became aware of the anomaly and found a way to avert the disaster and break the loop. After a near-collision once the loop had been broken, Bateson—unfamiliar with the design of the other ship—hailed the Enterprise to offer assistance, but was informed by Captain Picard that he and his crew were now in the year 2368.[1]

Botany Bay
Botany Bay (TOS-24)
Botany Bay (TOS-24)
Nuclear-powered vessel of the DY-100 class. Named after an infamous Australian penal colony, the Botany Bay was launched in 1996 with refugees from the Eugenics Wars, namely Khan Noonien Singh and his band of genetically-bred “supermen.” The launch was kept secret in order to not alarm a war-weary population that the tyrant who controlled more than one-fourth of the planet from 1992-96 was still alive. After being defeated in Earth’s Eugenics Wars, Khan and his followers hoped to find another world to conquer and rule.[1]
The Botany Bay drifted in space for over two centuries with its passengers in suspended animation, until the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 discovered the sleeper ship near the Mutara sector in 2266. The ship’s automatic systems attempted to revive Khan first, since he was the leader of the group, but malfunctioned in the process, forcing the Enterprise crew to intervene and save him. Captain Kirk intended to keep the other passengers in stasis until the Enterprise reached Starbase 12 with the Botany Bay in tow, but Khan defied security and transported back to the sleeper ship to revive his crewmates and begin an insurgency. Of the 84 passengers, 72 survived, 30 of them women. The Botany Bay was discarded in deep space when Khan attempted to commandeer the Enterprise,[1] but a variety of belongings were retained, including a collection of classic books and a seatbelt, which found their way to Ceti Alpha V, where Khan and his people were exiled.[2]

I.K.S. BortaS
Vor’cha class (TNG-181)
Klingon Vor’cha-class attack cruiser. The BortaS (which means “revenge” in Klingon) conveyed Captain Picard‘s request for Klingon assistance at planet Nelvana III when the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D investigated reports of a secret Romulan base there. The three Klingon vessels that responded to Picard’s request made it possible for the Enterprise to escape without provoking an interstellar war, despite the hopes of the Romulans.[1] The BortaS rendezvoused with the Enterprise on Stardate 44246.3, when Chancellor K’mpec revealed that he was dying, and asked Captain Picard to serve as the Arbiter of Succession, leaving Picard in the unenviable position of selecting the next leader of the Klingon Empire.[2] The BortaS served as Gowron‘s flagship during the Klingon civil war of 2367. Worf served as weapons officer aboard the BortaS during the early part of that conflict.[3]
