B’hava’el System

G-Type Star (STSC)
G-Type Star (STSC)

System with a G-Type star, circled by 14 planets, two of which were inhabited. Commonly known as the Bajor system, for its largest and most populated world, the system’s official name is taken from its parent star, B’hava’el.[4] The system regained its independence after decades of Cardassian occupation,[1] and relatively soon thereafter became a Federation member world.[3] It took an average of 29 seconds for a Galor-class warship to leave Cardassian space and arrive in Bajoran space.

Betreka Nebula

Though the details were not specified, an incident there between the Klingons and Cardassians led to hostilities between the two empires for 18 years.[1]

Betazed Surface (TNG-172)

The Class-M homeworld of the Betazoid race, a Federation member, was Earth-like in appearance with large blue oceans. It was within a standard shuttlecraft’s range of Starbase G-6. It hosted a biennial trade conference circa Stardate 43930, when Counselor Deanna Troi, her mother, Ambassador Lwaxana Troi, and Commander William Riker were abducted by the Ferengi from one of its large parklands.[2] The Trois lived near Lake El-Nar until Kestra, Deanna’s older sister, died. Mr. Homn, Lwaxana’s personal assistant, resided there when not accompanying her.[3] Troi commented that Angel I‘s government reminded her of that on Betazed; it was not clear whether she meant the constitutional oligarchy or its matriarchal social structure.[1]

Barisa Prime

A Federation colony along the Tzenkethi border. An attack by its neighbors in late 2371 was actually a ruse by the Dominion to stir up a new war on the border.[1]

Balosnee IV

A vacation planet where the soothing harmonies of the tides could cause stimulating hallucinations. The world was one of Zek‘s two choices for his first vacation in 85 years after his short-lived “retirement” as Grand Nagus, but he eventually opted for Risa and its “voluptuous females” before faking his death in 2369.[1]

The Mirror Universe Bajor was a slave planet of the Terran Empire for many decades. Upon liberation, it became a power in its own right, joining the Cardassian-Klingon Alliance and running Terok Nor.[1]

Badlands (Mirror)

In the Mirror Universe, the Terran Rebellion and its bases were well camouflaged in the Badlands, just as the Maquis were in the Prime universe.[1]

Asteroid Belt

Region where many asteroids are found, typically orbiting a star or other large gravity source. One asteroid belt in an unspecified system was where the U.S.S. Okinawa, under Captain Leyton, pursued three Tzenkethi raiders.[1] The Kar-telos system in the Gamma Quadrant also included one.[2] The asteroid belt orbiting Sol between Mars and Jupiter was a common site for Academy flight training.[3]

Asteroid, Badlands

A body hidden among the plasma storms of the Badlands, large enough to be Class-M despite its rogue status outside a star system. It was the destination of the Maquis while abducting Gul Dukat.[1]

Asteroid

Asteroid (TOS-58)
Asteroid (TOS-58)

Small celestial body composed of rock and metal, typically much smaller than a planet, often irregularly shaped. Asteroids often occurred in orbital belts within a star system, sometimes the debris remaining from the formation of that system, other times the fragments remaining from the disintegration of a planet. Larger asteroids were sometimes called planetoids.

In 2267, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 attempted to divert an asteroid that was on a collision course with an inhabited planet.[1] A Type-C asteroid crashed into an unpopulated continent of Penthara IV in 2367, threatening an ecological disaster until the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-170-D helped dispel its dust cloud.[2] Another asteroid from the Pelloris Field threatened Tessen III with the same type of destruction in 2368 before it was vaporized by the same starship. Its nitrium alloy core prevented a tractor beam lock, and it was undamaged when hit by photon torpedoes. It was later discovered to be the home of metal parasites.[3]
