Two separate and desperate missions split the crew into two teams on distant worlds. A plague threatens the inhabitants of the planet Buran, and due to social mores and religious beliefs, the inhabitants not only don’t want assistance, but also believe the Federation might have infected the populace. On the planet Iomides, a Starfleet officer violates the Prime Directive when she uncovers an assassination attempt. Can Riker repair the damage and save the target from death?
