The crew of the Enterprise begins to act strangely. In desperate need of repairs, the Enterprise will have to be patient. Ordered to transport a Tellarite ambassador and his assistants to the planets Ammdon and Jurnamoria to stop a war, the Enterprise picks up a strange woman along the way from the planet Hyla. Her people have the power of persuasion by just using words, and she slowly convinces the Enterprise crew to become pacificts.
