In 2372, Commander Avik mistook Lieutenant Tom Paris of the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 for a thief who had stolen a prototype coaxial warp drive starship from Benthos IV. When the stolen ship entered the Kotaba Expanse with Paris aboard, Avik attempted to take him into custody.^[1]
